Aircraft crashed into the sea off the coast of Japan, crew rescued.

The Bu No for this crash hitherto reported as 167835 may not be correct.

This Seahawk is/was operating with modex NF-612/01.

However, on the 09th March 517th AS C-17A 00-0174 arrived at NAF Atsugi with a 'new' MH-60S from the USA for HSC-14, which on arrival was given the modex of NF-610, leading the local Atsugi spotters to surmise that the victim of this crash may have, in fact been Bu No 167832 which is (or was) operating as modex NF-610.
