Req: stored Hunters in Switserland May 1995

Post by erik_kamphuis »

Seen on a trip through Switserland a lot of stored Hunters.
Who can help me with the missing ones?

Meiringen 02.05.1995:
Stored on flightline:
J-4015/45/58/62/85/90/91
J-4103/04/05/07
J-4201/08
3× whe could not read, anyone?

Interlaken 03.05.1995:
14x Hunter on flightline stored. Not read because we drove on to Payerne...

Payerne 03.05.1995:
Stored on flightline:
J-4003/35/63/67/78/80
J-4206

Emmen 04.05.1995:
Stored in hangar:
J-4006/21/29/41 +2
Stored on ramp north side next to hangar:
J-4027/57/59/66/70/73/82/86/95
Also looking for the active Swiss Do-27 this day.

The next dat we saw Do-27 V-607 at Buochs active.
And PC-7 2021 new for SAAF.
Also PC-7 HB-HMR made a testflight. Can anyone confirm this was c/n 010 to become 2022 for SAAF???

At Lodrino we saw 02.05.1995 stored at the platform 20 Pilatus P-3. This serials I do have!

Thanks in advance

Hi Erik,

I've checked your information with my database, and EW&R2 (published 1998). The information is below. I would suggest further investigation through:
http://www.swisshunters.info/#search

Information there seems more complete than any other source I know.

Can only list what I read in EW&R2. Meiringen lists 19 Hunters, of which 3 are explicitly are denoted as 'l/n 3-94'.
Unfortunately those listed deviate considerably from the ones you list:
J-4009*/15/39/49*/53*
J-4104/06/07/09/11/14/17/29/31/35/38/43/46/47
Not much help, I'm afraid.

No less than 32 Hunters are mentioned in EW&R2. No mention of location.

J-4003/06/37/45/63/65/73/78/99 are mentioned here.

HB-HMR is mentioned as a long time active civil PC-7 Mk2, registered since 1992 and active at least until 2013, so I doubt it has been delivered to the SAAF...

AFAIK there were only 2 Do27's still active, V-601/07. However, like the PC-6's, they tended to hop around a lot, so it might well have been V-607.

HTH. Good luck!

Grtz,

Thanks Robert for your reply.
I also found this Swisshuntersinfo site and try to puzzle things out. I hoped someone was also there during the yearly exercize week who read the Hunters all at the flightlines.
For the PC-7 I guess it is only this demonstrator and not gone to SAAF unfortunately!
