Spain orders A330, C295MPA and H135 with Airbus

To support Airbus and to strengthen the Spanish aviation industries, Spain placed a number of orders with Airbus:
3 Airbus A330 to be converted to MRTT
36 H135, to be increased to 59 in the second phase, primarily for law enforcement and Government agencies
4 C295MPA
4 H160

Also extra funding for the A400M and NH90 programmes have been made available.

The extra funding for the A400 and NH90 means the original order for 27 A400 ( and not just 13) and 45 NH90 is taken on. The way I read this (!?)

I think it was not the best translation I did there, it looks more like they put payments for the programma forward, so the company has a better cash position. So no extra aircraft the way I read it. Just earlier payments for the NH90 and A400.

In some way glad they buy their own MRTT's and don't join the multi-bunch; gives some distinct colours in the greyish European tanker community (Britts included) apart from the AdlA...

Can't say I think EU funding has always been put to use in places intended for (I.e. a certain Greek railway project anybody who has ever driven to Araxos or Andravida has been able to see) but on the other hand: taxpayers all get taken from behind, no matter which currency the use or have used in the past
