Contrary to popular belief, the JASDF F-4 retirement is as follows...

The last flight of 301 is tomorrow (10th) and the decommissioning ceremony is Monday 14th (dec2020....) .

As stated, the previous ceremony was a celebration of the type’s service life, not the withdrawal.

JASDF 301SQ has "officially" announced
that they finished the operations of F-4EJ Kai Phantoms at Hyakuri AB and moved to Misawa AB.

This is the end of Japan's 50-year long tactical operations of the legendary fighter jet.

The # 7th Air Wing # 301st Squadron moved to #Misawa Air Base
(Misawa City, Aomori Prefecture) on December 15, 2nd year of Reiwa.

With this reorganization, the operation of the # F4EJ reform in the Air Defense Command has ended,
and the 7th Air Wing has become a combat wing that operates only # F2 fighters.
