The 2 Poseidons have been inherited from VP-45 when the Talons (VP-16) assumed TDY status at Sigonella from the Pelicans(VP-45).

168762 is ex VP-5 and fresh to Sigonella with the VP-16 deployment arriving from the states to Sigonella 24/3/17
I noted 168762 in Rota on 02 October last year on an operational callsign, so it would have appeared to have been operating from Sigonalla on this date?.
Checked back on 762, this was one of the VP-5 deployments to Misawa on detachment to Bahrain. It returned to the USA via Rota eventually ending up back at Jacksonville on 2/10/16 as Madfox 01
168762 was marked as LA-762 at the time.

It was with a second P-8A pn the 02nd October, IIRC 168757.
Passed by Rota Friday the 19th on a non-spotting trip, a short stop was made though...
