Forum rules
This is the forum to share your recent aviation photos with the rest of the community, being photos not older than six months at the moment of topic opening. Theme-based topics, not about recent events, should go into the sub-forum.
Although we will not screen beforehand, we reserve the right to delete any images, especially if clearly unsharp or otherwise low in quality. For more information on how to upload you images, check this post. In topic titles, please use airfield names in stead of just codes, and be clear about what kind of photos your viewers can expect (e.g. CIV/MIL, location etc.).
Finally, bring any photo criticism understandable and to the point, not cynical or offensive! Simultaneously, do not feel offended by criticism per se, but simply explain your motives, taste et cetera, or ignore if you wish so.
Dr. T, not that I mind taking a peek at other pics than this topic is about, but maybe you can't remember where you took the last 2 pics you placed on the previous page. So, I'd like to clear things up for you. I'm 100% sure the last 2 aren't taken at Gilze Rijen but during the Open Day at Eindhoven.

Still i think its weird for me never to visited EHEH open day and still have pictures from it
Wel, apparently you did visit eindhoven, or somebody else took those pictures for you! The Su25 and Norwegian F-5 where definitely at Eindhoven in 1993. Gilze never had Norwegian F-5's at an Open Day.

Thought it would be nice to have something else than planes which is related to the airbase
Yes it is nice indeed, only the place was not familiar with me, and it still isn't
Which road and hangar do you mean? Do you mean the hangar of the glider club?
Is this a road you mean on the base itself or is it just a public road? Maybe a picture of Google Earth could help

Oké thanks, so the small road next to the road to the glider club hangar. But why was it designated 'militair terrein' at that time???
Rob Martaré was told by glidercrew only last Sunday that the road to the glider hangar and the glider hangar itself are still military domain. That would explain the sign, although I'm not sure wether there currently still is a sign.

Correctly quoted! Therefore too much visitors/spotters could then be sent away from their terrain by the Militairy Police, they told.
wasnt Gilze Rijen the first Dutch airbase to host Eastern block aircraft? Can still recall it was sometime very early 1990's?? Does anyone still have photos of these very nice aircraft? Would like to bring back some old memories of seeing a Mig for the first time in real life.
