I believe the Problem was that the Nose cone had to be painted with a special type of paint wich wasn't availble last time they painted a demo, maybe they specially orderd that paint this year.DJdeRidder wrote:For the first time they have now painted the nose cone black. Does this mean the aircraft will be phased out after service with the demo team? I thought painting the nose cone makes the aircraft's radar unserviceable..
Must say I like the design better now that I've seen the Telegraaf/Defensie picture, just hope it's not as 'shiny/blingbling' in full sun as the first Woensdrecht pic showed.
I was at Volkel to watch the new demo bird up close and had a quick word with Chris Vaneker. He told me they were very happy to get permission to paint the entire aircraft including the nose cone but painting this small part (with special paint) was almost as expensive as painting the entire fuselage, wings and tail together!LV84 wrote:I believe the Problem was that the Nose cone had to be painted with a special type of paint wich wasn't availble last time they painted a demo, maybe they specially orderd that paint this year.DJdeRidder wrote:For the first time they have now painted the nose cone black. Be proud of the Dutch lion! Personally I think it's really nice, like the orange and especially the nice lion.Jacco wrote:Is this a copy of our national soccer team shirt? Not original, what a defeat! I hope I'm going to like it in the future...
