BÜCHEL THURSDAY 2010-05-20 RW03
Weather: scattered/broken clouds, clear air, light wind, cool

Based aircraft (Jagdbombergeschwader 33):
Tornado IDS JBG 33 45+83 lzrd c/s L10:25
Tornado IDS JBG 33 43+87 grey c/s L10:35
Tornado IDS JBG 33 44+16 grey c/s L10:36
Tornado IDS JBG 33 45+40 dark c/s L10:52
Tornado IDS JBG 33 43+58 grey c/s L10:54

(notes: as Tornados have become a rather rare breed in our region nowadays and with a large force of this aircraft type concentrated at Büchel now, I used a journey to Ramstein for a short stop at this Eifel airbase. Hidden under trees at the Southern approach of the runway from 10.20 until 11.20 hours, I noted five based Tornados landing in this short time frame. As this was exactly what I had been hoping for and as more aircraft could be expected at Ramstein, I soon continued the journey to the USAF base ...)

Visit to Buchel.

Post by Shadow67 »

I am planning to visit Buchel next week. As this will be my first visit to Buchel, I am looking for a site where I can find a route description to the best spotters place? Any idea about visitors etc. is welcome!

Thanks in advance!
