In topic titles, please use airfield names in stead of just codes, and be clear about what kind of photos your viewers can expect (e.g. CIV/MIL, location etc.).

Finally, bring any photo criticism understandable and to the point, not cynical or offensive! Simultaneously, do not feel offended by criticism per se, but simply explain your motives, taste et cetera, or ignore if you wish so.

Truly agree with the majority that the An-2 is the real gem of the show. But lately I've been putting more effort in the demonstration teams as well, because they might very well be the next victim of budget cuts. Russian Knights and Swifts will be axed after this summer, who's next...?

Interesting turn in the topic, being more about whether the Thunderbirds are Go or not :) To me, I did drive 200km to go see especially them. Sure, I agree that at times you get bored stiff with the routines of the demo teams. Then again, that's probably what gets the large crowds to the field and that in effect is probably which keeps Airshows going. Not only keep them going, they also attract other planes and Air Forces to send material. Sure, it's not just that, but an Airshow without at least one of the big teams, I doubt there would be much Airshow let alone continuity.

Personally, after seing the display on the 6th (btw, not even close to an hour performance, more like 45 minutes), I think for example the demo of the Blue Angels has more juice. Music is more co-ordinated, use of radio and communication, narrator, basicly to me the Blue Angels perform like they're on a Rock concert where as the Thunderbirds where kind of soundchecking. Most probably also had to do with the fact they were parked close to the beach (figure of speech) so you didn't get to witness the whole picture. Would I go see them again? Absolutely! It's not that often I can get to see an internationl renowned team perform close to home. So for the cost of a day off and 12 euro in fees to get in (I'm lucky to be driving a company car so the trip is kind of free), I think that's not to shabby.

What I do loath however is the way the show was organised. Not only was the display line miles and miles away, all kinds of material parked in front of you (including the crew and they're guests) you didn't have any clear view of the runway and on top of that, the spot I picked to put up camp upon arriving (on the field) I was sent away from after some 15 minutes because they decided last minute that that would be the perfect spot for the "official" press. Ridiculous (at the time I had some other thoughts and words)! Not to mention the sun being in about every shot the viewing area being to the south. Sure, I was warned for all this on the forum, still I guess you always kinda hope it doesn't actually works out as bad as described.

All in all, good thing nowadays Airshows are diverse, there's something for every one! Will post some of my shots later in the thread of the 6th.
