Maybe you don't care what plane it is, but you post for other people, not for yourself, otherwise there is no reason to post. Maybe other people should like to see something different then the same KLM again. Only because photo spotters would like to show each other how nice light there was, and you can make out a specific situation.

No offence, keep on posting. But as said, try to make more out of a visit to SPL and pictures made.

Amazing work Menno!

Although it looks like you are a bit heavy handed on the noise reduction :(
Thanks buddy! :scramble: :toppie: About the noise reduction, i have not used more as i allways do, which is really not that much. What i did do however, is use a little more contrast, probably that will be the reason......but i will check it again.

Sorry, but i really do disagree on this one, this light situation was within a very short window (not more then 5 minutes) of opportunity. First of all, i was not waiting for this KLM 747, it just happened to be there, as was this beautifull light. The spot i had was the best to get the image like it is, i even had to run for it.
I am aware of the arrivals and departures, since i check my i-phone on a regular basis. And indeed, in this case i really don´t care what kind of plane is in here, for me it was to do about the light, which is just beautifull. if i would post only for other people, i would have to know what each and one of you prefer, which is mission impossible, due to all different kind of characters, likes and dislikes. you made your point, so it´s noted. you have given your opinion, which is clear.........for those who do not want to see these pics, is free to look somewhere else....

your quote: Maybe other people should like to see something different then the same KLM again............this is an assumption, which in your case might be true, but how can i know what all the other scramble members prefer, like or dislike. it did not came in to me like this........geeeee, this is a KLM 747, i´d better not post this one, cause it´s way to regular. instead of that, it was like, woooooww, this light is beautifull, something you don´t get to see that often. very much worth posting here at scramble.....but appearantly you have a totally different opinion, which you have all right to have of course...

From here i will rest my case, cause i think this discussion is pretty useless.

Cheers!

@ Skyhawk: thanks mate, good to see there are others who can appreciate this :toppie: :scramble:
Agreed :)

I'd rather see a picture of a KLM 744 or even a 737 in this kind of stunning light, than a "normal" picture of a plane in normal light.

Yes, it is cool to get a rare livery or visitor that doesn't come to EHAM too often, but the pictures Menno shows here are way better to look at.
These type of pictures are a reason I keep practicing. They are an inspiration to me.

I think you don't get it. You post to a public forum so comments are always possible. In all my previous posts I am trying to tell you that I am not negative, I can ignore the pictures I don't like.

The pictures will be in my opinion much more interesting when the plane on the picture is interesting too. I am only challeging the people that have the equipment and knowledge to create this beautifull pictures. I have had the same discussions in the past with one of the top photo spotter on this forum and he proved it was possible on this same forum.

The post is already of one or two weeks ago and I still remember those beautifull shots of the Air Europa and Air One express. The shots of the KLM are not in my memorie, and I will click them away quickly.

You can see this as a personal attack, but you can also see this as a comment to improve pictures. I hope you see this as a positive comment.

So after all it's simple;

A -Regular + boring light / conditions / angle = boring
B -Non-regular + boring light / conditions / angle = interesting
C -Regular + good light / conditions / angle = also interesting
D -Non regular + good light / conditions / angle = AWESOME STUFF :D

I prefer 'D'

I think everybody prefers D Martijn, but with a lack of a non regular plane, even a KLM 747-400 in beuatifull lighting conditions like this, can be awesome, but hey, that´s just my opinion right.

The KLM 737 is probably one of the most uninteresting planes flying around. Simply because there are so damn many of 'em. But when someone shoots a KL737 in the way that Menno did in his pics, I have to be careful not to drool all over my keyboard again.

imo the A380 is probably the ugliest bird in the skies today. But when someone shoots it in the way that (i.e.) Menno, NutsyR or Tomba do, I cannot help but be amazed over such a photo. And I'll bet I'll love it. Great light and composition can -to a degree- even make the A380 a nice looking plane.

thirdly: EHAM is an airport that is easily available to us and one they visit often. So chances are you're going to encounter the same planes. The challenge then, would be to keep your pics fresh and original. Which -to me- they do.
