...and today a Brazil AF C-130 arrived. By the time I got to the airport the pax (a lot of them) were disembarking, and the aircraft was shrouded by 34 degrees worth of heat haze... Hope it will still be at LPA tomorrow morning when I return home.

Las Palmas de Gran Canaria / Gando on 08./09./10.04.2013

Post by CUJO »

Hey everybody,

I had the great opportunity to attend the well organized spottersday at Gando for DACT 2013.
So the first days were spent outside, the third mostly inside on the balcony of a hangar next to the flightline.

The following were noted in these three days:

Ala 11 - EF.2000/T
C.16-38/11-18; C.16-40/11-20; C.16-41/11-21;
C.16-42/11-22; C.16-43/11-23; CE.16-11/11-80.

Ala 12 - EF-18A
C.15-34/12-50 (special c/s); C.15-44/12-02;
C.15-49/12-07; C.15-50/12-08; C.15-51/12-09;
C.15-61/12-19; C.15-68/12-26.

Ala 14 - EF.2000 (all in Ala 11 markings)
C.16-32/11-12; C.16-35/11-15; C.16-44/11-24;
C.16-47/11-27; C.16-48/11-28; C.16-49/11-29.
I'm not 100% sure of the unit of 11-12.
On Sunday there were two rows of EF.2000 - one with five, one with six aircraft.
On Monday, five of each unit were identified, the sixth of Ala 11 flew on Tuesday.
On Wednesday, 11-12 taxied out as a spare behind three Ala 11 aircraft (which would make five Ala14 and seven Ala11 aircraft).
However, Wednesday evening I saw two rows of six EF.2000 each on the ramp.
So take your pick.

Ala 15 - EF-18A
C.15-15/15-02; C.15-26/15-13 (special c/s, black/grey tigertail markings);
C.15-33/15-20; C.15-38/15-25;
C.15-41/15-28 (special c/s, full colour tigertail markings for 25 years EF-18 operations);
C.15-47/15-31; C.15-64/15-34.

GEM/Esc 741 - C.101EB
E.25-43/74-43; E.25-68/74-22; E.25-72/74-26;
E.25-81/74-34; E.25-83/74-35.

1.Sm / 2.Wing - F-16AM/BM (all no markings)
FA-68; FA-89; FA-91; FA-109; FA-127; FA-133; FB-22.

NAEWF - E-3A
LX-N90458

Based aircraft were seen:
Ala 46/Esc 462 - FA-18A
C.15-77/46-05; C.15-79/46-07; C.15-81/46-09;
C.15-84/46-12; C.15-87/46-15; C.15-89/46-17;
C.15-90/46-18; C.15-92/46-20; C.15-93/46-21;
C.15-94/46-22.

Ala 46/Esc 802
F.27-200MPA
D.2-03 (+1 unidentified in the hangar on 10.04.2013)
CN.235MPA
D.4-08/T.19B-14
AS.332B
HD.21-07; HD.21-10

Visiting were the following, mostly in connection with DACT 2013
08.04.2013
C.295M T.21-03/35-41 Ala 35
Departing to Lanzarote, but unidentified were four Mirage F.1M.

09.04.2013
KC-130H TK.10-05/31-50 Esc 312/Ala 31
C.295M T.21-11/35-49 Ala 35
C-130H CH-01 20.Sm/15.Wing (dep 10.04.13)

10.04.2013
KC-130H TK.10-05/31-50 Esc 312/Ala 31
C.295M T.21-03/35-41 Ala 35
C.295M T.21-11/35-49 Ala 35

Further participants were at least the four mentioned Mirage F.1M of Ala 14 and
VC-10 K.3 (ZA147/F) of 10.Sqn, all flying from Lanzarote.
The VC-10 returned to RAF Brize Norton on Friday, 12.04.2013.
Any help on the Mirage F.1Ms is greatly appreciated.

Any further additions, corrections or comments are welcome.

One of the Mirage F1M's was the 14-40 (noted on 8 April). It is the C.14-68 according to the Scramble database. On Friday 12 April another E-3A arrived, the LX-N90455.
