Volkel has become a real pathetic excuse for an air force base... This must be the worst air base within the Netherlands and all surrounding countries, as far as visiting aircraft go. AFAIK the only jet-ish like aircraft that landed here this year was a French Alpha Jet...

I vote for closing down Volkel once the 36 or so JSFs are delivered in the future, not Leeuwarden.

AFAIK it did not. The noise would have drawn my attention.

I did see a E-3 come over Uden, but this was around 16.15lt.
And it was at approx. 3000ft so not really inbound Volkel if you ask me.
