At the pictures of A340-300 - Airbus - F-WWAI - c/n 0001 from 23 November are the gear doors almost touching the ground..
Is that normal? Or is it just an illusion?

It is not an illusion...
This day, this aircraft has made any landings with gear doors opened... testing from Airbus. Why ? I don't know :|

It is not an illusion...

I'll give it a try; when normal landing gear extention fails (this normally happens by hydraulics) the remaining option is a manual extention. With this move the landing gear doors are lowered by gravity (unable to close them like during normal operations) and this result comes out.
