June 23 and 24 were planned for a big “Portes Ouvertes” at this transport base, east of Paris. Due too budget cuts it was downscaled to a one day event. Exotic participants like a Mirage 2000 and C-17 from Qatar disappeared from the site. There was a spottersday at the Saturday from 12.30 to 16.00h. This was free excessible, when subscripted. A big row of cars was waiting for the gate, and it opened not before 12.30h. ID-checks were made and it took all a lot off time. First we all had a briefing about the do’s and don’ts! Finally we could enter the static area, but unfortunately all with fences close at the aircraft. The 3 Mirage 2000Ns and Rafales were nice to do with the run-up on the taxi-track. A pair of 2000Ns performing a nice show, you don’t see often! The rehearsels took more time and we could stay till about 5PM. From the Transalls in all dispersals, mostly only tails were visible and 3 flew. The Super Puma at the static was from Solenzara (Corsica). No Pumas or Twin Otters from GAM56 were seen, so you may think this unit moved from here (or did I miss something)? Cougar 2369 had it’s former code FW still visible on it’s tail (ex GAM56?). Pilots from EH01.044 flew the chopper, or is it also from Solenzara? Luckily a C-160Gabriel was on the static with all it’s antennas.
Dispersal North overside:

(SA167/68-OC) H-34A pres gate NE
The Broussard and H-34 were only visible if you drove around the base and checked the northeast side, just like the dispersal over there! The base museum, with it’s Jaguar, was not found.

If anyone knows the 5th Transall in the NW-dispersal??
Was R96 flying from/standing in the NW-dispersal?
R157 not mentioned in the last Scramble, flew from there on saturday.
R88 missed some panels, so WFU.
