@Roel, Je hebt helemaal gelijk. Je hebt wel een gecalibreerd scherm nodig om deze kleine verschillen te kunnen waarderen. De meeste van onze lezers zullen een afwijkend scherm hebben dat ze de verschilen uberhaupt niet zien.

Is it also possible to use a none macro lens on the Roel Reijne methode, like a Canon EF-S 17-55mm f/2.8 IS USM, because the minimal focus disctance is almost the same
as the maco lenses with the same range ?!

Today I recieved my brand new Epson V700 scanner

This are the first results for now. I'am very happy with the
quality of the scanner. All scans which I show you here are
35mm negatives. The software is very easy to use, Silverfast
was delivered with the snanner. I hope you like my results

Do you have to postprocess a lot? How are the colors from a raw scan? What sort of film were you using back then?

The post process is quite easy, the photos are already quite OK when they are scanned by the scanner.
I always used Fuji Superia ISO200 film. The scanner produces a TIF file, I open this file with lightroom
and do exactly the same edit process as my digital images. The results are very good to my opinion. I
spent about 10 to 15 minutes for one slide! Hope this answers your question?

I think that is still quite a lot of time. What is it that you have to do, only adjusting levels en colours or also cleaning up dust spots?

I guess that Alex means 10 to 15 minutes including the scantime of a slide. This process alone takes about 8 minutes. At least that is the time that it takes my Epson V750 to scan a slide.

Alex, I think the scans look good. In fact, these are some of the best scans I've seen on this Messageboard up till now.

What I also notice is that there is still quite some grain in the results. You could of course use noise reduction, but this will result in glossy pictures and loss of detail (so I'm glad you didn't). Considering the fact that your scanner isn't cheap I was wondering if scanned negatives/slides will ever be able to compete with DSLR pictures?

Now that I'm used to digital pictures I'm starting doubt if I my slide/negatives collection isn't "wasted" since there is no way to get them in my computer the way I want...

Did you ever check Frank Noort's most recent (professionally done) scans?
Maybe that is something for you. No idea where he has them done, but apparantly it is someplace in Flevoland. Lost the name though...

Slightly off topic:

Ik heb via marktplaats een 'Medalight' lichtbakje op de kop getikt (4"x5"). Helaas blijkt de lamp (waarschijnlijk tijdens verzending) kapot. Weet iemand hoe ik aan een vervangende (CCFL 5000K) lamp kan komen (voor niet al te veel geld)?
Zoeken op Google levert weinig op; een online fotowinkel in Canada, die alleen binnen Noord Amerika verzendt en een groothandel of fabrikant in China of HongKong. Winkels in NL die het lichtbakje zelf verkopen (bijv Cameraland) heb ik overigens nog niet gevraagd....
