So, any advice what would be the best day (of the week) for that? Do they fly at Saturday? Sunday?
Thanks in advance!
If you need something for in the weekend than your best bet is a harbor tour or Brown Field in Otay Mesa.

Good luck.

Thank you Tally!
And what can I expect in Brown Field? I had an impression that this airfield is mainly used by civilian light planes.

Brown Field often has USMC F18s from Miramar, plus other visiting military. I've usually seen military there, but no guarantees
Between North Island and Brown Field is Imperial Beach, which the helicopters from North Island use for training - last time I went there it was about 1700 on a Friday afternoon and there were 5 in the circuit, you get quite close and the aircraft swap in and out, well worth a visit on a weekday

I was at Imperial Beach in Nov and had nothing. Then moved on to Brown Field and the report you can find in the USA movements here: viewtopic.php?f=88&t=141832
And that was in a matter of 1.5 hrs or so (Friday afternoon).

For Imperial Beach just follow the scramble directions. For Brown Field I parked my big rental truck (RAM 1500) up behind the FBO and it was great for shooting over the fence. No questions asked by the FBO, police, or anything. Think in that area they more worried about border crossings than someone taking pictures of airplanes.

Tally, very useful information, thank you!
So, by now looks like most interesting spots for me are:
Coronardo beach
Imperial beach
Brown Fields
