Growlers back home?
Is there anybody who can confirm the rumour that the Growlers will leave this weekend back to CONUS??
Re: Growlers back home?
So far no oceanic NOTAM, no “Gold” tankers in the area.

Re: Growlers back home?
Activity very low past few days. Apparently only 1 flew each day the past few days. Rumor at the fence is that only 4 are currently here..
Rome has Bufalotta, Arizona has alotta BUFF..
Re: Growlers back home?
Today 2 flew. I doubt if they leave this weekend if there are still missions flown (and no NOTAM/ferry tankers)...
But any information on this is welcome!

Re: Growlers back home?
2 tankers departed SP just now, eastbound with Lager callsigns. One of them appears to be 80035, which is equipped with the MPRS drogue pods and lacks the USAF probe in its boom.. This is the same KC-135 that supported the Growlers yesterday, so it seems they, or at least some, are still here, flying missions..
Although I'm in the area, I wasn't at the base myself, this is from ADS-B!
Regards, Bart

Re: Growlers back home?
Rumors at the fence were last week only 4 were at Spang, indeed. Anyhow, at least 2 fighters just went out as well, not F-16s.
Taking into account the missions they flew Thursday and Friday and the MPRS Tanker that just went out before the fighters, I agree they (EA-18G's) have not returned to CONUS yet.

Re: Growlers back home?
4 different Growlers flew today. 2 in the morning mission. 2 in the afternoon. (I don't have the serials from the afternoon mission, but they started before the morning mission was back, so I am reasonably sure it were 4 different birds )
