Hi,
Yesterday late afternoon (8th) and this morning (9th) I went to Martin State. No flying, but there were 8x MI ANG A-10s parked. All with big fuel tank, so not sure if they are heading somewhere....
MI ANG:
80-0263/MI
80-0196/MI
81-0975/MI
78-0658/MI
80-0262/MI
78-0659/MI
81-0994/MI
78-0689/MI
Locals (all MD) seen:
79-0104 / 78-0718 / 78-0612 / 79-0108 / 79-0175 / 79-0165 / 78-0702 / 79-0087
What I wonder is, there are quite a few more MD A-10s, but only 8 barns (and 1 was parked next to it). Where do they normally park the others? Or does this mean half of the unit is gone? Or are quite some parked in big hangar?
Regards,
Oz

MD A-10Cs will retire, unit will change to cyber mission, acc https://www.wmar2news.com/local/air-for ... transition
“ In the meantime the Air Force will begin divesting in the 21 A-10 planes at Warfield this fall.”

Oz, when the unit is home entirely, usually a few are parked on the ramp, as indeed hangar/sunshed space is insufficient.
A pity they are retiring, such a nice base..
