(notes: as the days of TLP at Florennes are counted now and with one of the last flying courses taking place from this airbase, I undertook another journey to Belgium. Although the weather was quite good as forecasted, I was shocked by the sight of a “dead” TLP ramp when arriving on the spot just 90 minutes before expected first take-off time for the TLP mission. Luckily, aircraft began to be prepared soon and a mass-launch of some 20 aircraft without noteworthy ground-abort took place. Although the number of participating aircraft was rather limited this time, the nice mix of aircraft types made up for a very impressive experience. My personal highlight of course were the two Polish F-16s with the two-seat version mocked of with the large dorsal spine and external fuel tanks – a really terrific sight. Also very welcome were the pairs of nowadays rare USAF F-15s, Spanish F-18s, Italian AMX’s plus French Mirage F.1s and Mirage 2000s.
Recoveries could be enjoyed on nice sunshine with another highlight being the visual formation run-and-break of two Tornados paired with two Mirage F.1CTs. Once again, a nice and successful day at “Superbase” Florennes)

Hi,
Did the Italian F-16B fly a mission or did it return to Italy?
Best regards,

RF-84F Thunderflash FR29 was noted as gate-guard.
Position is slightly more inside the base than the Mirage V.
FA47/FS F-16A was parked just before the TLP flightline.
Also another F-84 was seen near the woods just right of the TLP apron, seen from the spotters place.

Re: Florennes W&R
Hi Piet,
Out of my memory, the F-84 behind the flightline should be the FU-50.
Best regards,
Arjan

Re: EBFS 24+25 jan 2009
totally true! But i thougt that kleine brogel has the qra task and this weekend it is transferred to Fs. It could be a explanation for the 'standby' in the notam.
Assume makes an ASS of U and ME.

Did I hear 4 Phantoms arriving this morning?
