Denk dat , mocht je het überhaupt al willen, het enige échte criterium zou zijn of het toestel gefinancierd wordt door een ministerie van defensie of niet. Elk ander toestel lijkt me technisch gezien feitelijk civiel...maar nogmaals... who cares

Hi all,

Als ik het correct heb, viel de Coast Guard tot enkele jaren geleden onder het ministerie van Verkeer. Dus de USCG was toen geen militaire instantie........
Dus zouden de puur militaire spotters onder ons die kisten totaal negeren. Nu is de USCG onderdeel van Defensie, en dan schrijven we het wel op??

Grappig hoor die US Coast Guard, altijd goed voor discussie.

Dit blijft leuke discussies opleveren, waar je tijdens trip kilometers lang over bezig kunt zijn. Vooral als je vaak op pad gaat met iemand die ALLES spot (tot balonnen en ultralights toe)
Voor mij is het criterium: heeft een kist een roundel en/of squadron markings? Zo ja dan telt ie als militair, en anders niet. Maar uiteraard zijn daar ook weer uitzonderingen op. Denk bijvoorbeeld aan de Falcon 50's van de Franse luchtmacht. Sommige zijn volledig in militaire VIP-kleuren, maar er zijn er ook een paar volledig in het wit met alleen een "civiele" regi erop (bv. F-RAFJ). Die voldoet dus eigenlijk niet aan mijn eigen criteria maar plaat ik uiteraard wel!
De Securité Civile telt zo dus wel als militair, maar de Douanes Francaises dus weer niet....
Ach, uiteindelijk heeft iedereen zo z'n eigen criteria inderdaad, en dat houdt het leuk!

Bovenstaande is het leuke maar ook het banale van het spotten.

We laten iedereen vrij in zijn / haar keuze, maar als het afwijkt van de eigen keuze, dan volgt er een discussie....

Uit de tijd van het BBS (aai, al zo oud ?) weet ik nog dat 'militair' voorzien was van een vlaggetje, waarop gelijk de gehele vloot van Lufthansa werd bestempeld als zijnde van de Luftwaffe.

Het blijft leuk maar ook wel banaal,dit soort discussies.

Vooral als je vaak op pad gaat met iemand die ALLES spot (tot balonnen en ultralights toe)

Een ervaring met deze discussie:
Tijdens een Reforger oefening op Schiphol halverwege de jaren 80 werd deze discussie ook gevoerd.
Nadat alle standpunten ingenomen waren, keken een aantal militaire spotters demonstratief alleen nog naar de mooie C141’s. Dat bleek geen handige zet. Ze moesten er opgewezen worden dat de vrijwel witte 707 die voorbij kwam taxiën wel interessant was. Zelfs de registratie (4X-JY*) overtuigde niet direct iedereen.

Zelf noteer ik veel te veel. Voor mij telt vooral het toestel en productielijst. De eigenaar vind ik minder interessant. Dat levert ook weer dilemma´s op met omgebouwde vliegtuigen. Zo blijf je lekker bezig.
