Are you sure about the type? The SU-24 was down as static and the SU-27 as a flyer......
Very sad news....

Re: Belarus Su-2 crashed at Radom Air Show
You mis-adjusted the topic name, it now reads "Su-2".Crizz wrote:Polish TV news http://www.tvn24.pl/-1,1617102,0,1,kata ... omosc.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
Edit: thanks.

Just spoke to Erwin, who witnessed the crash: It is the Su-27 !

Strange... it does appear to be an ejection at min 0.17.

I also observe some parts falling away from the Flanker at 0.17 sec. The origin of the parts seems to come from behind the cockpit area (enginebay?). It looks like there is a small explosion in that area just prior to the parts departing.
And I was just happy again that some "beautifull Eastern hardware" visited a NATO airshow again. Shame to see this happening.
But I must admit that I always feel a bit "nervous" when an aircraft type of an airforce without enough money for proper maintenance and flying training takes part in an airshow.
Too many russian aircrafttypes fel out of the sky recently during airshows or airshowtraining.

If you watch the clip closely, (tip: pause the playing after the things departed the airframe at let's say 0.19) you can see the lines of the machine have not changed, so IMHO the canopy is still on the aircraft, so it might be something else than an ejection.

3x Su-27 down within 2 weeks is surely not a good promotion for the Aviation and surtainly not the Russian Industry.mikek1357 wrote:Very very sad news, alot of accidents at fly-inn's and airshows lately.
I'm afraid that this might wake up more Airforce to replace theire aged planes and alerts Western countries agains these type of planes.

Not only the Su-27, here in the Netherlands a few (non-lethal, thank god) accidents. Vicki Cruse at the WAC in Silverstone and Svetlana in her Yak-52.Hurricane wrote:3x Su-27 down within 2 weeks is surely not a good promotion for the Aviation and surtainly not the Russian Industry.mikek1357 wrote:Very very sad news, alot of accidents at fly-inn's and airshows lately.
