Hi all,
Next week I have 2 days to do some mil spotting around Dallas. Obviously I have been at JRB Fort Worth (nice!), but I guess there should be some interesting airfields around...
Can anyone of you give me some hints where to spot some additional mil a/c? Or VW&R aircraft? And what about that WC-135 supposed to be based at Greenville Majors? Anything worthwhile at Love field?
Thanks in advance for all of your help,
Erik

Hello Erik
Alliance airport off Interstate 35W 20 miles or so north of the JRB is worth a look as many mil visitors can usually be found here. They park by the tower, which you can park about 100 feet from.A six foot fence is all that is between you and the ramp and photography is unrestricted. The results of 2 visits there can be found on the messageboard.
A look at Meacham, just off the freeway between Alliance and the JRB is worth it as one ot two mil items can usually be found.
Best of luck.

Don't know if you're into old stuff, but at the museum at Meacham is as well... (F-14, OV-10, F-4, A-7, F111, F-5, F-105 and more..)
I have never drunk milk, and I never will . . . .

Alliance is good for some mil night stoppers but Fort Worth is definitely more interesting. I'd advise you to spend the day at FW (sometimes complete squadrons can drop in there) and in the evening check out Alliance to check if there are night stoppers.

For sure FW is cool... From lockheed you may get a chance to get the JSF or foreign F-16's, also the locally based guard F-16's, F/A-18's and Hercs. And many visitors, when I was there we got an Israeli and VAEF-16, as well as a NASA F-18, an E-2C, and a C-40.SquAdmin wrote:Alliance is good for some mil night stoppers but Fort Worth is definitely more interesting. Alliance is just for a quick check, but indeed not worth spending hours waiting I guess, unless you're well informed
hmm...fond memories....

If you have a radio, you can hear Alliance from Navy Fort Worth, and if anything interesting calls, head up there. It should only take about 30 mins on the freeway outside of the peak traffic commuting hours.
Alliance approach is covered on 118.1,as are Meacham and transports into Navy Fort Worth.
