Traffic is starting to come to a gridlock near the entrances on both days after about 07.00 hrs in the morning. Yes, the locals certainly set their alarm clocks as well!
Volkel is nothing compared to this, just think of RIAT...

Four thousand Hungarian forint/15 euros per ticket is a lot of money for Hungarians, but the locals are happy to pay that amount to enter! And arriving early means they get the most out of the day...

I am not sure if I understand it correctly but according map published on official website, gates no 5 and 6 are located next to the parking. Is it possible to get there by car or is this some kind of VIP parking?

Not a lot of photo opportunities along the corridor. However, last time there were 7 Gripens parked next to the C-17, and the storage area for the decomissioned MiG-29s (commonly referred to as "Jurassic Park" by Hungarian aviation enthusiasts ) is also very near - this is visible on Google Maps if you zoom in.

I have to note 2 things, though:
- It is not certain that there will be access to this area this year. This was the solution last time, but no info about this year.
- In theory you are not allowed to take pictures of the base outside the public areas (e.g. the cannibalised Fulcrums). Of course, organizers can't really check this...

We have read only some information about the arrivals... on a forum somebody have written, the Su-27 Flanker from the Ukrain will land tomorrow (Thursday), the serbian aircrafts will come on Friday, the MirageF1 and maybe the F-18 will arrive on Thursday, and the swiss aircrafts too.... I note nothing is 100% sure!! We have read it just...!!

Hi,

I'm planning to stay at Kecskemet for the departures on Monday as well. Does anyone know whether there is any possibility to visit the base again for the departures? If not, would it be worth it to stand outside the base and watch the aircraft depart? Never been to Kecskemet so I don't know how close you are to the runway from "outside".
