Hi,
I am an aerospace engineering student from Italy. When I was a child, my father used to take me to the nearest airport, Milano Linate, to watch airplane traffic.
It's about a year from now that I'm into "serious" aircraft spotting. Here are some of my photos:
Living few kilometers from it, my usual "hunting ground" is Milano Linate airport, Milan's city airport. Airliner traffic is almost exclusively Alitalia/Air One and Meridiana Fly (Italy's 2nd biggest airline, born from the merging of Meridiana and Eurofly).

The only foreign airlines are European flag carriers:

Being the nearest airport to Milan, there are a lot of business jets, with lot of executive traffic especially during big events such as the Grand Prix of Italy:

During the Grand Prix of Italy there is also heavy helitaxi activity between the airport and the Monza racetrack:

Rarely there are also some military visitors:

And frequent general aviation planes, both on the main airport and the nearby seaplane base:

When I want to see some wide-bodies, I go to Milano Malpensa, Milan's intercontinental airport:

It was the first Italian airport visited by an A380:

Sometimes I also go to Milano Orio al Serio, Milan's low cost airport:

I also like to go to general aviation airports, like Milano Bresso:

And Varese Venegono (the same airport where Aermacchi's trainers are built):

Obviously, I can't resist going to airshows, like Frecce Tricolori's 50th Anniversary Airshow:

Thank you
Yeah, those rare clear days when you can see the Alps from the airport allow for beautiful shots.Thermal wrote: Especially this one:

Yes. I'm part of a community that sometimes organizes trips on control towers and, in rare occasions, even in the apron, like when the A380 landed.mipo72 wrote: Cargo MD11 is taken out of the tower i presume??....
