Finnish Air Force Bases May 2011
Hi All,
Some photo’s taken from what now seems to be for me an annual visit to Finland . I spent the week travelling to just about all four corners of the country to visit several airbases both inside and out, as well as one or two other locations too. Weather for the week was all over the place but this is a selection of what I came up with, with a handful of shots from Tiger Meet Cambrai tagged on the end a bit randomly…..
A lengthy post as usual but thanks for looking anyway….

One of the reasons I keep visiting Finland is its relaxed and quite way everyone goes about their life, not to mention the light nights and millions of lakes!

With the Air Force not being very busy flying wise at times, we visited a few other places of intrest when they popped up on route, with Pori Technical College being one of those with its collection of ex-Finnish AF types and excellent hospitality.

Re: Finnish Air Force Bases May 2011
In Finnish; kiitos paljon.
very nice shots indeed and not just the planes are attractive as you might have found out.
Rovaniemi is my 2nd home airport so to say...........guess why !
Seems Pori is having so more a/c parked outside nowaday, used to be just the Mil8, the F27 has been taken outside for a fire-fighting exercise at the airport.
looking forward for future updates.
cheers

Re: Finnish Air Force Bases May 2011
Terve Kevin,
Is it possible to see anything from the outside at Tampere and Rovaniemi? I will fly to Tampere next week and we stay in a cottage just south from Rovaniemi. Maybe I will visit the base for a few hours instead of fishing in the lakes.
