Re: Ingolstadt/Manching (ETSI) 2012 MIL
Seen during visits at the 22nd and 23rd of February:
22nd:
flying:
98+79 Tornado ECR (Assta markings)
44+25
45+22 these two Tornado's were seen when the 98+79 was pushed in the hangar. Another green Tornado with WTD 61 markings was seen, but positioned unreadable.
23rd: a very nice day
51+05 c-160 parked, next to it was a bare-metal C-160 without any markings. Anybody knows which one this is?
50+40 C-160 landing
50+45 C-160 landing, and departing again. This is one of the ELOKA Transalls.
98+79 Tornado ECR WTD 61
When the hangar was opened, the following was seen:
37+15 F-4F
38+13 F-4F
98+03 EF-2000T
Eurohawk 99+01 was parked near the runway all day.
At Cassidian 30+89 was seen during engine tests.
Outside at the WTD 61 heli-hangar:
84+55 CH-53G WTD 61
84+94 CH-53G WTD 61
86+24 Bo-105P nm
98+89 UH-1D WTD 61 flew a short mission
And a nice surprise performed several touch & go's:
98+35 Do-228NG, "pollution control" titles. Is going to be the 57+05.
regards
Michel

EloKa = Elektronische Kampfführung.
I guess the closest english explanation would be "ECM".

Yep, Gerard is right. Two tubes on the front fuselage, and on each wing a pod for ECM.

For pictures, google C-160D ELOKA !! See also latest AFM
Nothing special, all C-160's operated in AFghanistan have these modifications for there own protection.
