Luchtmachtdagen 2013 Volkel - WISHES, DREAMS, CHIT CHAT
Hi,
I know this is still a long way away, but I know next year the theme for the Luchtmachtdagen at Volkel is 100 years of the Dutch Air Force. Just a question, can we expect a big show on a level with the turkish show, or will it just be like previous years?

Would be nice to see the Thunderbirds together with the dutch orange F16. Or something like a display of the orange F together with the display teams of Belgium, Norway and Denmark.

I thought we have some hours on the Nato C-17s? Two starfighters could be flown inside with a C-17 to Volkeljb5 wrote:toppiero wrote:Still dreaming of the Starfighter team

Am I right in thinking next year will be the first year of the new colour scheme for the Dutch F-16 Solo Display, or are they keeping it as "The Orange Lion" for another year? I always thought they changed schemes after four years which would mean 2013 would see a new scheme..
Really hope to get to Volkel next year for the 100 show. Bring on the Vipers, Hornets and Fulcrums!

Apart from great weather..
Some types which face extinction soon: German F-4's, French Mirage F.1's (Spanish OK too )
In addition: SU-22's, MiG-21 LanceR
EDIT: And a B-52 flyby as this seems to be "the bomb" nowadays at airshows in Europe

Would be nice to have part of the airshow during sunset. Like they do in Belgium.

Lets hope the Norwegians finish their Starfighter to flying conditions. This year it was only taxiing during the Bodo airshow.

I think those Ospreys from Mildenhall would be nice.

Instead of orange F-16s, strange coloured tornados, dark green helicopters and a lot of modern grey junk which you can see for the next 30 years...., I wish the following (of course, take it with a couple of kilos of salt )
Kfirs (don't care which country, just send them)
MiG-25 from Algeria
A-5 from Myanmar
Tu-128 heritage flight
Mirage 5 Pakistan
A-4 Skyhawk (Brazil or Argentina)
F-7 Namibia
F-4D Korea (a Japanese (R)F-4 will do also)
Tu-142 from India
B-52s
But the Nilsko option I like also
So, now back to reality......

Great Lesley.... but I would like also some F-5s from Tunesia, A-37B from Honduras and, of course..... a Philippines Air Force S.211. That would satisfy me11E wrote:Instead of orange F-16s, strange coloured tornados, dark green helicopters and a lot of modern grey junk which you can see for the next 30 years...., I wish the following (of course, take it with a couple of kilos of salt )

"F-4D Korea (a Japanese (R)F-4 will do also)"
Korean F-4D's were retired some time ago already. So that would be Korean or Japanese (R)F-4's.
Also interesting would be a Taiwanese S-2T before they retire them.
