Re: NATO Tiger Meet 2013 - Ørland again!
Not very original...one more reason NOT to visit the Tiger Meet in 2013.
I thought Araxos was schedueled for 2013, was this cancelled due to financial reasons?

Why would staging the meet in the same place after one year be a reason not to go? You can bet the farm that Araxos was cancelled due to the financial crisis, as was Monte Real.r.e.hendriks wrote:Not very original...one more reason NOT to visit the Tiger Meet in 2013.

Well, to answer your question.
I wanted to visit the Tiger Meet 2013, because it was schedueled at Araxos in 2013, not only for the tigers, but more for the locals.
Those tigers are pretty much the same aircraft every year. But that's my personal opinion. A great exercise nevertheless.
Rgds Rob.

This not only applies to Greece and Portugal, apparently Norway is the only country within the Tiger Assocation that has the finances to organise the event in 2013.Hans Rolink wrote:You can bet the farm that Araxos was cancelled due to the financial crisis, as was Monte Real.

Didn't see this being copied here yet;

Sunday, 17 March 2013 Bavarian Tiger Spirit revives
After the disbandment of the 1st Squadron / 32 Wing from Lechfeld the Tiger community lost another member, but hope remained...
And after only a few months a new Bavarian Tiger Squadron his arisen.
Both Squadrons from the 74th Fighter Wing at Neuburg have stepped forward to continue the Bavarian Tiger tradition. During a ceremony on Monday the 18th of March 2013, the Tiger Traditions will be Handed over from Lt.Col Jörg Schröder (former CO of JaBoG 32/1) to Lt.Col Marc Grüne the CO of both Squadrons.
Lt.Col Grüne was introduced to the tiger spirit as exchange pilot with the French EC 1/12 ‘Cambresis’, and was already able to visit a Tiger Meet as Co of 74 Sqn, when he flew a Typhoon to Cambrai during the NATO Tiger Meet 2011.
At the moment all seems to be pointing in the direction that the Wing will participate with their Tyhpoon’s during NTM’13 in Ørland, later this year, Something that is welcomed by all other Members.
