If these aircraft the only ones which will be cancelled, it will be certainly one of the better NTM's. Also photowise it looks promising as you will be placed between runway and taxitrack.

Re: NATO TIGER MEET 2016 Zaragoza
Dear Don,
If I look on the map their is no opportunity to photograph on the taxiway with the sun in the back. But their is goog solution. Create room on the parking area or make a new area left of the parking area. The opportunities at Konya were great. Every aircraft stopped in front of the people. This can also take place at Zaragoza.
Your support will be highly appreciated.
Greetings,
Volkert.

Hi Volkert, I'll make your good suggestion when I get there next weekend. There are somethings where one doesn't want to ask too early. Cheers, Don

After my message many colleague photographers gave their reaction to me by private e-mails. The current position for photographers is nog good, not for landing photographers but also not for taxiway photographers. They said to me that if there are no extra opportunities many photographers will cancel their visit. So on behalf of my colleagues I reconstructed the map which was added the the Nato Tiger Meet website. Of course it depends on where is the wind coming from. But during both winds their is a easy solution (see attachment) to fulfill all our wishes. If I compare it with Konya the organization can easily copy to program for Zaragoza. In blue is the taxiway opportunity similar as it was in Konya when the aircraft stopped in front of the photographers.
There is still time for a good solution.
Greetings,
Volkert.

Hi Volkert, I hear/read your words. I'm rather a small user of Scramble and don't know how to open your attachment. Help

Here is the link to the new layout with the photographic areas. If you see the blue areas the photographers have the whole day long the sun in the back. And you can also take your pictures on the runway for landing and take-off with large lenses. AND FOR SAFETY the blue areas are also better situated.
Hopefully you can arrange it for us.
Greetings,
Volkert.

Your proposed west/east separate landing/taxiway sites (red and yellow), are even shorter/smaller then the proposed place to be. It will be overcrowded.
And for the morning wave, also on the blue areas you will have the sun opposite.
And last, not everybody has a "big" lense to take pictures from the blue areas across the field to the active runway
And, it requires to move around. I suppose, the Spanish AF don't want us to move around 2-3 times during the day, for safety reasons.

Re: NATO TIGER MEET 2016 Zaragoza
Haven't calculated the position of the sun during the day.
But can imagine if you don't face it from behind all day @ the original place, nor will that be the case from the proposed place(s).
Also you need to take other things in mind ; parking, arrangements for the open house etc.
The main thing will be, providing good training for the participating crews.
If besides this, some nice things for aviation enthusiast can be arranged, suberb !
But to mention many photographers might cancel their visit, if things don't improve .....
Don't know if that will contribute in a positive way. Let's be hapy with what is arranged, from there on it might only improve !
Think it would be best to have the herd move as little as possible during the day ... To prevent FOD Hazards, delays to the tight schedule and so on.
