I believe the three F/A-18s in the hanger were:

VW02, VW09 & MA02

It was noted at the time that there was also a VW09 on the flightline, so a double-take was made!

The machine believed to be a VMFA-112 aircraft also had a blue band with several white stars on the tail which is typical for that unit.

VMFA112 probably getting an old VW-09 then , have just seen a note on NAMAR(quoted below) about VMFA112 so maybe this is part of the 30 mentioned

Keep the notes coming thanks

There was a great article in the Oct 2018 Air Forces Monthly magazine about Marine Reserve Sqdn VMFA-112 based at NAS Ft Worth TX. It states that 112 will get the last of 30 FA-18C models (they will get 12) being upgraded at Cecil Field Fl by Boeing. As you know, most of these birds came from storage at AMARG. First arrival should be anytime. 112 will also lose the five 2 seat FA-18Bs they've been flying. These newer legacy Hornets will keep 112 going until the F-35B or C will be issued to them o/a 2028, so they'll be in Hornets a good while longer. "
