The 'black' USAF C-32Bs
I am not referring to the colour of these airplanes. Our transatlantic friends are trying to confuse spotters with the appearence of more tail numbers than airplanes that can be attributed to the elusive 227th SOF operating out of Mc Guire AFB,New Jetsey.
Known airframes that are with this unit are,
B757-23A(C-32B) MSN25493 which flies as 02-4452 hex code AE0443.
B757-23A(C-32B) MSN25494 which most of the time flies as 00-9001 with hex code AE0449.However,this airframe is believed to have made at least 2 visits to the UK as 99-6143 with it's hex code changed to AE0446.This airframe is also been reported as (0)2-5001.
Some sources report 99-6143 as being B757-23A MSN25495,but a trawl of the net reveals this airplane to still be flying with the Saudi Royal Family as HZ-HMED up to July 2010 at least.
Any speculation on further tail numbers or airframes alleged to be with this unit?.
Are there any Boeing 757 airframes that are unaccounted for at this time?.

Re: The 'black' USAF C-32Bs
Slightly off-topic, because it is no B757, but I will give it a try anyway......
On 06MAY1997 I saw a C-135/C-137 serialled "86008" in Frankfurt. I am still looking for the exact id of that one.
Does this maybe belong to the same unit?
Regards,
Gerard

Re: The 'black' USAF C-32Bs
Damn, as I have seen 24452 as well, I can conclude that I have seen the same aircraft twice with a different regi

Re: The 'black' USAF C-32Bs
Gents,
These aircraft have been discussed at length on various forums. Firstly, it is important to note that there are two different operators.
The 227th SOF at McGuire is one. Whether they are a "black" unit is perhaps off topic, but they are listed in the McGuire phone-book, so they are hardly trying to keep a low profile! They also appear on the USAF website:
http://www.af.mil/information/factsheet ... asp?id=156" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
They are generally agreed to operate 09001 and 24452.
Another two aircraft are operated by Comco, usually out of Atlanta. They are N226G and N610G, but often wear US serials. Browsing photos on the net show how the colour schemes worn can be changed easily by judicious use of stickers. N610G is suspected as being the aircraft that has worn 96143, but I guess there is no reason why both aircraft should not have appeared with this serial.

Re: The 'black' USAF C-32Bs
what is the purpose of this swapping of regi's?
Re: The 'black' USAF C-32Bs
To make it difficult to track the operations of the planes. There is also a bunch of customs Cessna Citations flying in the south of the USA that change the registrations often.mart wrote:what is the purpose of this swapping of regi's?

A lot of speculation going on on this subject, CIA etc are all mentioned.
FEST comes in action after terroristattacks, most sources suppose they also transport prisoners, i guess a good reason to keep ops secret.
It will always remain a question what excatly they do.
Re: The 'black' USAF C-32Bs
off topic, but 24452 was noted Eastbound over Europe yesterday from Prestwick i believe.
At this very moment 96143 is on SBS over the UK also Eastbound.
Anyone who knows where they went to? STR /FRA or further East?

Re: The 'black' USAF C-32Bs
One C-32B is expected this night at 1:45lt at Stuttgart STR/EDDS!
I think that they are changing serials of E-6 from the Navy too, when they have to fly on a hot mission with Navy seals on board! I have seen the 406 several times in a month, with the serial applied on changing parts of the aircraft! In the late 90s E-6 without showing serials on the aircraft where a common sight in Stuttgart! So they are playing a bad game with us...
