Certificate of Airworthiness for Fokker D.XXI
It is celebration day at Egmond Vintage Wings based at Hoogeveen, the Netherlands. Today 19 June 2023, the Fokker D.XXI fighter that they have reconstructed has received its official Certificate of Airworthiness. Scramble would like to congratulate the builders with this enormous success!
Scramble has reported earlier on the history of this Fokker type and the first flight and imminent certification of the new built aircraft, registered as PH-XXI. (See the links below)
It flies in the colours of Luchtvaart Afdeling (Dutch Army Air Corps) which postwar became the Koninklijke Luchtmacht (KLu, Royal Netherlands Air Force). With a special permit of the KLu, PH-XXI is allowed to carry serial 229.
And when you are interested in seeing the Fokker D.XXI both on the ground and in the air: On 8 July Egmond Vintage Wings organizes an event at Hoogeveen to celebrate the success. The event is called ‘Scramble Fokker D21 229’ so it something that we can warmly advise you to visit. You can buy your tickets at: www.egmondvintagwings.com/events
