Ellsworth's Tigers deployed to Guam
On 23 May 2024, the first Bomber Task Force (BTF) 24-6 B-1B Lancers arrived at Andersen AFB (Guam) to form the 37th Expeditionary Bomb Squadron.
Normally based at Ellsworth AFB (SD), the 37th EBS Tigers have already conducted BTF missions to demonstrate lethality and interoperability in support of a free and open Indo-Pacific. On 29 October 2020, Scramble Magazine first wrote about a clear strategic message for China.
Regular USAF BTF deployments and operations support US Indo-Pacific Command’s missions by integrating strategic bomber capabilities in a joint and coalition environment.
Being part of the 28th Bomb Wing, the following four EL coded 37th Bomb Squadron B-1B Lancers are now present at Andersen; 86-0102 "Bad moon rising", 86-0104 "Live free or die", 86-0108 "Alien with an attitude" and (on loan) 34th Bomb Squadron's 86-0139 "Drifter".
During this past January, 37th BS Lancer 85-0085 was written off while it crashlanded at Ellsworth AFB.
