First Argentine Bell 407
The Fuerza Aérea Argentina (FAA, Argentine Air Force) is on the verge of receiving its first Bell 407GXi, Pucará Defensa reports. The first one of three for the air force ordered in December 2022, is painted grey with orange dayglow and registered H-111, construction number 56366.
The new helicopter will be operated by IV Brigada Aérea at Mendoza, replacing the venerable Lamas. The other two 407s are due in 2024. Three others will go to the army.
On 26 December 2022, Scramble Magazine first reported that a contract for six Bell 407GXi utility helicopters has been signed. The deal for the new helicopters is valued at USD 38 million and they will be evenly split between the air force and the army.
