Uruguay opts for Super Tucano and gets second EMB120
The Fuerza Aérea Uruguaya (FAU, Uruguay Air Force) has acquired six EMB314 Super Tucanos. Currently only a handful ageing A/OA-37 is operational whereas the A-58 (IA-58) Pucaras have been withdrawn March 2017.
So a very welcome boost to FAU's light attack and interdiction capabilities. They have found a way to finance this deal with a long term credit line.
Another Embraer product to join the ranks is a EMB120 Brasilia acquired second-hand. Scramble Magazine first reported about this future '551' on 3 April this year. The twin-turboprop commuter airliner is a former Intercaribbean aircraft receiving rework in Campo Grande, Brazil prior to its delivery.
