Leticia is Colombia's southernmost town and access point to the large Amazone region. From Colombia, the town can only be reached safely by air. Its airport doubles as a Forward Operating Location for the military.
Leticia's lay-out is fairly simple with a single north south runway and all facilities located around the apron, which can be found to the south east. Since the Amazon river features as the border with Peru and can be found immediately south of town, flights usually avoid Peruvian airspace by using runway 21 for approach and runway 03 for take-off.
You are likely to reach the town by plane from Colombia, or alternatively, by boat from either Brazil or Peru. The airport can be found immediately north of the small town, you won't have any trouble finding it.
