1Roundabout

West of the airfield, the best place to be is on the shoulders of the roundabout connecting the N134 (to/from Bordeaux), D38, D651 and D932 roads. Do not stand near the fence though, stay on the other side of the roads.

2Avenue de Canenx

The eastern approach offers the enthusiast a similar view to the western approach. When in the village of Mont-de-Marsan, take the D932 (Avenue du Maréchal Foch, continuing in the Avenue du Maréchal Juin) and go left at the first roundabout. On this road (Avenue de Canenx) you will reach the airbase's fence after about 1 kilometre. For about 500 meters, you can view the approach, right up to the approach lights. Park your car just before the road slopes down and bends towards the approach lights. When they come in high, clear shots can be made although you have a very short reaction time. If they come in low, you catch trees in front of the aircraft! Here, too, you need to be aware of security: do not stay too close to the fence for a long time.
