BA126 Solenzara "Captain Preziosi" is an operational base of the French Air Force, located on the eastern shore of the island of Corsica (Corse). It has been used during multiple wars. During the Second World War is was used by the USAAF, during the Kosovo crisis it was used by the RAF to deploy Tornado's and in the Libya conflict it was used by the AdlA. At this moment it is home to the helicopter of two French air force units and the Gendarmerie. It is often used by fighters who train at the nearby ranges and as an attractive weekend stop on navigational trips.
Solenzara Air Base has one north-south orientated runway. On the west side are the aprons. On the south side of the aprons are some shelters, on the north side is the hangar for the based helicopters.
Solenzara Air Base is located in the village of Travo approximately 40 km north-norhteast of Porto-Vecchio on Corsica. The base is on the Route Nationale 198 netween Bastia and Bonifacio.
