All French youngsters training to become fighter pilots have to pass their exams at this training airbase. The local unit EAC00.314 (EAC stands for l'École de l'Aviation de Chasse) operates large numbers of Alpha Jets for this training task. The airbase is conveniently located next to highway A10/E60 but due to the undulating terrain spotting will be a challenge.
The airbase has a north-south oriented runway with all aprons to the west. There is a civil terminal in the south-west corner.
The airbase is located west of highway A10/E60 leading from Paris via Orléans to Poitiers and Bordeaux.
