The airfield of Valence hosts the French Army unit GAMSTAT, which is the test unit for all aircraft types in ALAT service. During summer season there is also a detachment of the Sécurité Civile based here. The company Thales is responsible for all maintenance of the based ALAT helicopters. Furthermore, it is a civil airport as well.
The airfield has three north-south oriented runways of which only one has a concrete cover. All aprons are to the west. The most northernly apron is in use by the ALAT. The southern aprons are for the civil operators.
The airfield is located east of the city of Valence. Highway N7/E713 is close by on the west side. Take exit 34 onto road D68 to the east. The airfield will be at your left.
