Bidar houses on of the training units of the Indian air force. This unit is the first Hawk user.
The airfield is now surrounded by a wall, so only the approaches offer good views.
From Bidar, follow the road on the south side of the railroad heading west. You will pass the base on the southeast side.
Alternatively, take highway 9 from Hyderabad and Sangareddi westbound. At Manakhali, head north to Bidar. You will now approach the airfield from the southwest.
From Dundigal
Basically, you can either go to Bidar straight from Hyderabad on the NH-9 or take the northern route past Dundigal. Obviously, this is a massive detour from Hyderabad. Also it is convenient when travelling from Dundigal to Bidar and much more scenic and quieter. From Dundigal head north to Narsapur and follow the sign posts to Sangareddi, you have to make a left on a fairly decent through road that leads through a natural reserve. At Sangareddi the NH-9/Hyderabad is sign posted, you have to take the direction of Zahirabad and Bidar.
