At Hakimpet the flying training school and helicopter training squadron can be found.
The airfield has a large ramp on the south side. The west of this is occupied by the Kirans and the east by the Alouettes. Also, the old cross runway is now dotted with helicopter landing spots used for training. Outside the air base on the southwest side, there is a prison. Not all the roads around the airfield are genuinely public and many farmland is fenced off as well.
The airfield is 15 km north of Hyderabad, just to the east of National Highway 7. It can also be reached by exiting Hyderabad on the road to Siddipet. This runs through the military area of Alwal which holds some instructional airframes and preserved aircraft that are visible from outside.
Spot 3 is excellent for landing shots most of the day (Erwin van Dijkman)
