Talavera la Real is also dubbed Badajoz airport and is used in both the military and civil role. It must be said that the civil activity is very limited with a small terminal and a very limited number of regular flights. The main activity is from Ala 23 of the Spanish Air Force that operates the remaining F-5 aircraft from here in the training role. The base is fairly open and offers some nice spots for reading serials and photography.
All military activity is concentrated on the Southern part of the base while the civit terminal is on the opposite site.
The base is located between Badajoz and the town of Talavera la Real, just North of the N-V provincial road. To get there from Badajoz you take the exit towards 'Airport' and 'Talavera la Real' from the A-5 highway.
