Hama or Hamah (حماة) is well known because of its Nouriah water wheels. The airfield is used by the military and is perched on the western outskirts of town.
Be aware, plane spotting is neither understood nor appreciated in the Syrian Arab Republic!
The air base has an east-west runway. All activity is on the north side. There are several ramps and north of both thresholds, a shelter area can be found with a mixture of drive-through shelters and regular ones.
From the city centre, follow the signposts to the railway station. From there you can go north towards road no. 56. After crossing the rail road, make a sharp left and you will drive towards the eastern threshold.
Alternatively, go south from the station at the T-junction near the large roundabout, go left. After a left and right turn, you will cross the rail road and will be on the south side of the airfield.
