This is the heliport of the (old) police station in downtown Ras al Khaimah. Not an airfield and with limited possibilities but it could nevertheless be quite interesting as the police helicopters operate from here. The second heliport on the map belongs to the Ibrahim Hamad Hospital. Be aware, plane spotting is neither understood nor appreciated in Arab countries!
The police helispots, two of them, are in a compound surrounded by walls. The helicopters will only be visible flying in or out, or to visitors of the station. The hospital helipad lies between a wall and the building, on the opposite side of the entrance.
The police station is on the corner of Al Mamourah Road and Island Street, just north of the Hilton hotel and the prominent Etisalat building. The Emirates highway runs close by and any means of city transportation will do to get here. The hospital is just over 1km down the road from the the police station. Follow Al Mamourah Road to the east, out of town.
