In 2007 14 JAS39C/D replaced the MiG-21s and MiG-29s of the Hungarian Air Force. Those Gripens are leased from Sweden but in 2026 these Gripens will be taken over by the Magyar Legiérö.

Two A319s from the defunct German airline Air Berlin were bought in 2017, ex-D-ABGM and D-ABGS. They are used as troop transport and government planes.

| The base was upgraded to serve as a NATO support base. Since 2009 this base operates the three C-17A Globemaster IIIs belonging to the NATO Strategic Airlift Capability. | ||||||
Five Mi-17 and Mi-17N were overhauled in Russia. All helicopters were delivered back in 2017 and one in 2018. They will fly till 2023-24.

Three C-17 Globemasters operates under NATO Command from Pápa airbase for transport and support missions world wide. The crew is a mixture of NATO pilots, operators and engineers.

Germany donated 20 Mi-24D/V Hind helicopters (stock East German AF) to Hungary. Still eight Mi-24 Hinds are operational based at Szolnok.

Two AS350Bs were transfered to the air force (serials 101 and 102) a few years ago. They were ex-air ambulance helicopters. Overhaul was done in 2018, used for training and VIP flights mostly.
