Re: Hilversum (EHHV/QYI) - 2011 CIV

A little bit more respect please. Not everyone working in the aviation business is a spotter! They're doing a great job for us pilots, and I would rather have someone doing his job instead of always being somewhere else taking pictures for spotters. To be or not be a spotter is not the issue ;) It'...

Libya - UN No Fly Zone Operations - views & opinions

Unless Uncle Sam and their buddies, wanna see some great balls of fire in their own front and/or backyard 'again', they better stay out of this.

They already demolished Irag and lost in Afghanistan etc.

Re: Hilversum (EHHV/QYI) - 2011 CIV

Was net even op de toren. Daar hebben ze de Duke ook gezien. Die kon gewoon wegkomen. Despite the Flightware and Atlantic Ocean Aircraft Crossings (OTTSpotters) log show something else, I can't understand why the 'lousy' Havendienst people, didn't standup (came of their chairs) and took some pica's...

Re: Lynx + crew captured in Libya - Comments

So, from now on we can ignore all negative travel recommendations or Embassy advises to leave a country, because the RNAF or NRN will (by International law) protect and/or evacuate (if you are a Dutch passport holder) anyway.

Re: Lynx + crew captured in Libya - Comments

In case the Dutch Antilles would be the scene of a civil war like in Libya, I can imagine we might not like it but would understand. Let's keep this within proportions... Civil war isn't the issue. Violating the sovereignty of a foreign state, is 'worldwide' enough for cockroach time. Doing so with...

Re: Lynx + crew captured in Libya - Comments

M.K. is smart enough for not torturing the captured NRN Crew. The violations are serious enough for some cockroach (jail) time. Sooner or later, the NRN Crew will be released in healthy condition. BTW what should the Dutch do, if an armed Venezuelan Marine helicopter lands without permission in the ...

Re: Lynx + crew captured in Libya - Comments

Names of the Lynx crew were released, but ..... Yeh, She'll go into the history books as being the first Netherlands Royal Navy (NRN) 'female' pilot who parked her helicopter .... (unfriendly hands). M.K. is in his right to lock up the entire crew for a long time and he certainly doesn't want faded...

Kleintje Pils wrote:How about this thought: could the Haskoning employee have been an undercover agent which was unmasked?
I've tought this too, but the Libyans gave him freedom instead of detention.

BTW why did M.K. accept the Dutch request for not broadcasting .... on local TV and Al Jazeera, before wednesday?

Re: Lynx + crew captured in Libya - Comments

consider it is pretty unbelievable that the civilian Haskoning employee was 'in true perill' and really needed to be 'saved', knowing that he - despite all chaos and confusion after the Lynx crew being arrested !- got to the embassy safely and back in Holland really soon. Spot on ;) Probably a memb...

Re: Lynx + crew captured in Libya - Comments

Why didn't show the Libians the helicopter already on sunday to the world press??? Were they waiting for the first move from Holland in this game of diplomatic chess??? Yep, Due to elections last Wednesday, dirty Mark and his 'diplomatic' team managed to keep this MEGA f*ckup 'highly' classified (q...

Re: Lynx + crew captured in Libya

Typical "If it ain't Dutch, It ain't much" ;)

Rescuing people in hostile area with a 'antique' helicopter who you can hear from miles, isn't smart.

I can't wait to hear her Firing Up and see her airborne ;)

Hopefully, she'll be visiting the Malle Oldtimer and Warbird Fly-In.
