Poland will arm 64 fifth generation fighters

Polish Defense Ministry intends to buy 64 fifth-generation fighter, delivery of the first of which will take place in 2021. According to Altair, plans to buy new aircraft contained in the program of technical modernization of the Polish armed forces. About what exactly the type of combat aircraft in question, in terms of modernization does not say, is likely to be procured Air Force American fighter F-35A Lightning II.

Initially in terms of modernization, first released in December 2012, it was the purchase of 16 new fighter F-16 Fighting Falcon latest version. According to the updated document in 2020 for the purchase of new combat aircraft is planned to allocate 170 million zloty (56.2 million dollars). Deliveries fighters should start with 2021. Fighter supplies should be completed in 2030, and in the early years of the pace at which the aircraft will be two units per year, and then gradually increase to four and six cars per year, respectively. Since the beginning of deliveries fighters Poland will pay for them 350 million zlotys per year.

Earlier, the Ministry of Defence of Poland announced its intention to keep the Air Force fighter-bombers Su-22. Lifetime of combat aircraft may be extended for a period of three to ten years; concrete decision will be taken in March 2014. It was reported that if the period of extension service aircraft be ten years, it would mean that Poland intends to save up for the purchase of new aircraft. Originally part of the Su-22 was planned to be written off in 2014.

most likely to replace the Mig-29 and Su-22's.
it would make no sence to replace the new-built F-16C/D as these aircraft have only recently entered service.
