TLP take off between 3 and 4 PM today, led by 2 pairs of Super Bugs. No AWACS participation and no/few additional participants it seems. Locals didn't fly (perhaps early morning).

Log will follow

Curious to your log, will be there on thursday. Did you visit nearby Babcock facility as well?

Cheers

Hi Ronald, sorry for the delay, am traveling at the moment.

Babcock site is under construction, but Airbus is worth a peek. The presidential Puma is still inside (so keep an eye out for the hangar doors to open) and an NH90 was doing several short test flights. That spot is anyway where you want to be for runway 27 take offs.. :-)

Relatively short mission (no AWACS and AAR) with late take offs (after 3 pm).

Bear in mind the weather is turning, on Monday it was still partly sunny but already windy and very cold. Bring gloves, balaclava etc!

Cheers, Bart

The royal Puma (Spain is a Kingdom 😊) made a test flight this afternoon. Inside the hangar I could read ET511, which in the dark looked like an NH90.
The TLP flew with USN F-18s.

Well the King is in Dubai, so hopefully for him Sanchez can enjoy some of these privileges now.. :-) Nice to see it fly though, cool! I saw an army Puma in the hangar. Could read only HU... That was likely your ET-511. It was behind screens, left of the VIP Super Puma when looking into the hangar.

OK, here's my log from last Monday. Straight from the camera, may get more on a big screen at home:

I missed at least 1 jet. I left around 5.30 pm when one came low overhead the military zone some 20 miles or so east of the base, heading for La Felipa initial point, close to 6 pm. Possibly an F-16.
I deliberately missed the last take offs as I wanted to charge my car before heading to the other end for the first pairs to return (Hornets & Tornado's) so I also don't have it during departure..

Take off shots were not as good as I hoped, as seen on social media for runway 27 departures, because the tower repeatedly warned for flocks of birds at the end of the runway, so they went high early, except some Rafales.. Decent spot is the Airbus employee car park, bordering on the civil terminal. There is a small park with benches where most locals hang out (well, if it's not too f**** freezing...) and has the advantage of having the Airbus/Babcock area in sight as well.

A few changes since Monday, the following flew (unless otherwise stated) yesterday, 2nd Mar:
FA-82, 97, 104 & 132 - with one or two others on ground (124 & ??) [CT-07 (ADSB) may have arrived this morning, Friday]
The Navy Hornets as listed except the CAG bird which remained earthbound.
JG-74: 30+53, 30+72, 31+01 & 31+11 (only one more visible on ground but their line was into the trees)
HAF as listed, all six flew, with the pilot of the last one back, 053, giving a very cheery wave which I assume meant "lovely to see so many of you shooters in the field, do come and try this outside Nea Anchialos" [C-130H 752 (ADSB) arrived Friday morning]
AG51: 46+54 & the very lovely 46+57 - photo proof, it does exist!! (plus one on the ground)
EC4 Rafale Bs: 4IO/338, 4FF/339, 4FK/344, 4IF/331 & 4HX/325
RDAF: E004, 018, 024, 075, 598 & 608 (plus 2 more on ground)
Visiting earlier Thursday was a French TBM700 and on ground was a Lw A400m (54+32 from ADSB, departed Saturday am)
The Italian Merlins didn't show, and the Airbus hangar was shut with nothing outside, oh and there were two D- Lear Jets up
KC-130T 164106/CNV6503 inbound as we speak, followed by A400M 54+02 GAF756 (out Saturday am)

The F-16D backseater is not Greek I think. Probably the TLP "referee". Look at his helmet & flightsuit, different colour/type than the pilot in front.. It also was not part of a 2- or 4-ship.

My Eeenglis not so good: "with the pilot of the last one back, 053" not the back seater, and 053 is a single. For sure it is the Driver who is waving, are fuzzy pictures allowed in this thread? BTW he flew with the D/082 but I had "camera freeze" when that landed.
