SAS' Q400 in storage in CPH

Post by jaah »

Hi guys

I thought you might like to see what has happend to SAS' Q400's.
There is about 12 Q400's in Copenhagen. The number varies because they are all going to Exeter, in the UK, for C-check's, so there is usually one or two away.
Right now we are just working on keeping them in flying condition untill a new owner is found.

Sorry, forgot that this a english part, the question was:

Is the RDI now in use as a turbine-vacuumcleaner? there is some kind of hose attached to the engine. Any idea what's for?

I don't what it's for, but the guys are trying very hard to keep humidity inside the aircraft below 30%. I assume it has something to do with that. That is also why all the aircraft are sealed off.
Kind regards

I don't know who the new owner will be, but it is 100% sure that they will not fly for SAS again. As you can see on one of the pics they are being repainted.
I don't think Bombardier are working on a completely new landing gear, but I assume they are working on a modification for all other Q400's so these accidents do not not happen again.
Kind regards
